David Wilde has a passion for understanding teenagers and their experiences. He brings curiosity about his clients’ world to connect with them and speak into their lives. David enjoys integrating metaphor and story into his work with teenagers and frequently uses chess as a therapeutic tool to discuss areas such as decision-making, strategic thinking, and relationships. David also enjoys working with the families, assisting families in connecting more fully with each other, thereby helping them to have more fun.
David has specialized training in Schema Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He has a particular interest in family trauma and works with clients ages 12 and up. He earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri, a National Certified Counselor, and a professional member of the American Counseling Association. He lives in St. Louis with his wife, two kids, and a tree-climbing black lab. He enjoys cycling, reading good stories, and learning the art of woodworking with hand tools.
