Kristin F. Pirrie

MSW, LCSW

Kristin Pirrie received her Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 1994. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri, Kristin’s approach to counseling begins with “radical genuineness.” Her style provides an environment of ease while delivering the therapeutic challenges individuals are looking for when they seek that objective set of eyes.

Whether you are a teen, single adult, couple, or parents with children, Kristin will candidly share with you that, with your help, the greatest goal is to “work herself out of a job.” To that end, when partnering with Kristin, you will be offered a kind of therapy that builds upon the strengths you have, analyzes the fears that paralyze and isolate you, and teaches you the skills that allow for emotionally corrective experiences.

Kristin lives in St. Louis with her husband of twenty years and five children. Kristin brings balance to life by participating in church ministries, running for mental health, playing music, sports and poker with her children, and periodically trying new things that scare her like knitting and rock climbing.

David N. Wilde

MA, LPC, NCC

David Wilde provides therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups. He specializes in working with adolescents who struggle behaviorally and/or emotionally. A majority of his practice is spent working with clients and their families to address defiant behaviors, difficult peer relationships, and maladaptive family relationships.

Additionally, David has an interest in working with anger issues. He has worked extensively in anger management, providing therapy for individuals and couples, as well as co-leading the Calming the Storm group and presenting seminars to community groups.

Rachel Peterka is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary. Rachel has worked and volunteered for many years in people-helping positions, including professional childcare, personal care for elderly persons, ministry work with missionary families, and families dealing with sexual brokenness. She has also worked with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, spiritual concerns, post-abortion guilt, identity struggles, and family of origin issues. She considers it a rich privilege to walk alongside those who are hurting, dissatisfied with their current quality of life, and desperate for change and deep healing. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys playing with her family, watching movies, playing group games, cooking, and talking about/doing anything that involves Italian culture.

Karen M. Reeves

MA, LPC

Many times in our joy we feel close to others, but in our pain we frequently feel alone. In reaching out, often we feel judged. Or, the shrug of someone’s shoulders tells us that what we are going through is beyond another’s comprehension. In therapy, Karen Reeves will walk with you in a safe, open environment to understand where you are and where you have been. Therapy does not look the same for every person or couple, but she will walk with you to discover and remove the obstacles that have kept you from the changes you want, and from being the person or couple you want to be. At times, she will use practical exercises and tools, and at other times she will join you in exploring dreams, losses, or life experiences and their meaning.

In looking back at her own story, Karen can see the many times she was paralyzed by anxiety. The more she pushed away thoughts and feelings that felt unsafe, the more anxious she became. Karen found that the way out was to know and understand her thoughts and feelings without judging herself for having them. Then, seeing the thoughts and feelings that sometimes contradicted each other, she was able to begin making choices about how to change. At times, others in her life helped Karen see alternative paths that she could not have seen on her own.

Special issues of interest for Karen include anxiety, guilt, anger, depression, and victims of abusive partner relationships, including emotional or physical abuse. In addition, she enjoys working with couples in various life stages (e.g., married, engaged, or dating). Also, she works with clients having relationship and engagement anxiety, or anxiety regarding decision-making. Whatever you are going through, Karen looks forward to meeting you and working together.

The choice to enter into your story is admirable. Examining past wounds and current patterns is brave and risky. I count it a privilege to partner with clients as we work toward health and freedom. You can expect a safe and compassionate space to engage your pain, fears, passion, desires, and self. I collaborate with clients to address areas of struggle, need, and strength. I delight in pointing clients toward the hope that pain does not have the final say.

I have interest in working with adults and adolescents who experience women's issues, anxiety, depression, postpartum issues, identity, eating disorders, childhood abuse/trauma, family of origin issues, and sexuality. I work from an integrated approach, using the safety and trust of the counseling relationship to foster healing and change.
